Hélène Swarth, born Stephanie Hélène Swarth on 25 October 1859 in Amsterdam, was a Dutch writer. Her literary career began with the encouragement of the writer Pol de Mont, who encouraged her to write her debut novel. In 1894, she married the writer Frits Lapidoth in Mechelen, from whom she separated in 1910. Swarth's work, including Diepe Wateren, was widely recognised. She died in Velp on 20 June 1941.
